Data Vortex welcomed several new team members in August and September 2014.
Hutch Freeland became a full-time team member of the Data Vortex team and currently serves as Executive Assistant to the Data Vortex president, Carolyn Coke Reed Devany. He will also assist Data Vortex Founder and Inventor, Coke Reed, with patent development and maintenance. Hutch will be instrumental in developing a student outreach program for Data Vortex, the Student Inquiry and Innovation Program (SIIP) as SIIP Coordinator. Hutch is a Shakespearean actor and recent graduate of Grinnell College with a degree in mathematics.
John Lockman, HPC Software Specialist of Vizias, joined the Data Vortex software effort in a full-time contract. John is helping to develop the software stack and will be instrumental in developing a student outreach program for Data Vortex, the Student Inquiry and Innovation Program (SIIP). He is currently working on integrating CentOS 7 into the Data Vortex software stack and building & running benchmarks on the systems. In the near future, he will also be extending the API. John is a skilled programmer and juggler.
Susan Lindsey, Technical Documentation Writer/Editor and Programmer of Vizias, also joined the software team in a part-time contract. Susan, a highly experienced technical writer and programmer, is developing timely, accurate documentation and user guides for the Data Vortex supercomputing community. Susan is a native San Diegan, but recently moved to Austin, TX (and loves it).
